Cape No. 7 has been billed “ the most successful Taiwanese film of all time”.
But making the movies almost brought financial ruin to Wei Te Sheng,who wrote, directed and co-produced. He was forced to refinance his house as well as burrow heavily from friends.
Though desperately short of funds, Wei never gave up. He mortgaged his house and borrowed from friends.
Cape No. 7 is a heartwarming small town tale bound together by music and love. Tagged as a music-based romantic comedy, it is a film that can make its viewers laugh and cry in turns.

Like how seven different colours make a lovely rainbow, seven incongruous characters make up a compelling rock band, and seven undelivered love letters change the lives of more then the intended recipients.
The film cost NT$50mil ( RM5.27mil ) to make and became a runaway hit, grossing more then 10 times its production budget with NT$520mil ( RM54.8mil ) in box-office receipts. Apart from the box office, it is also a multi-awards winners.

I’m an outstanding sportsman, says Super Dan

BADMINTON star Lin Dan has never been shy of talking up his achievements and it was no different after his Olympic gold medal, describing himself yesterday as an “outstanding sportsman”.
Lin Dan, as much a celebrity as a sportsman due to his love match with fellow world number one Xie Xingfang, crushed Malaysia’s second seed Lee Chong Wei in the men’s final with a superb display of power and skill.

Nadal still not satisfied

FOR Rafael Nadal’s rivals the bad news is that the Spaniard thinks he can get even better.
The 22-year-old woke up yesterday as the new world number one with an Olympic gold medal in his pocket after Sunday's victory over Fernando Gonzalez in Beijing.
Typically modest, or perhaps using some clever kidology, Nadal insisted on Sunday that Roger Federer was still the best player in the world, but the evidence suggests otherwise.
The level of his play at the Olympic Tennis Centre, as it has been for the past six months, was astounding but the Majorcan powerhouse is still not satisfied.
“For me Federer is still technically the best. He is the best player in the history of tennis,” Nadal said after his Olympic triumph.
“If Federer can improve, I can too for sure. I can improve the serve 100%, I can improve my volley. I'm happy but it's important to be humble if you want to continue improving.”

David Lim, leaders of the first Singapore Mt.Everest Expedition in 1998, which succeeded in placing 2 members on the summit.

the "cloud" at the back of the mountains are not actually clouds. They are snows blown up by strong wind with more than 200km/hr.
A week after his return from Everest, he was totally paralysed by a rare nerve disorder Guillain-Barre Syndrome. He spent 6 months in hospital before returning home, permanently disabled in both legs. Yet, he made a dramatic comeback and returned once more to Everest in 2001.

Well, from what i saw, David hide his disability quite well.
